The importance of knowing ones’ audience for a particular piece is invaluable & instituting methods of audience analysis as a means to communicating message is quite critical. The process then shifts into high gear and evolves into the main theme of the composition.

Identifying the topic, gathering information, applying that information and composing and revising all play major roles in the process. I prefer to research my topic in stages. I first gather all the pertinent information after identifying the topic and begin writing chunks of text as it is applicable to satisfy my goals and effectively communicate ideas.
